Silver Sulfadiazine is an antimicrobial medication
for topical use. It prevents and treats bacterial and fungal infections
and is useful when treating burns, sunburns, abrasions, and other conditions.
The cream also offers relief of itching associated with healing.

Directions:
- Put on gloves before applying the cream.
- Apply Silver Sulfadiazine in a closed room with minimal
air circulation. This helps prevent dust, dirt, and debris from getting
into the cream or onto your wound.
- Cut any dressing to the appropriate size.
- Apply the cream to the dressing using a sterile instrument.
- Use enough cream to cover your entire wound with
a thickness of 1/16 inch.
- Do not be alarmed if the cream turns your gauze a
brownish color. This is normal.
Frequency of Use:
Use every 12 hours for 2 days. After that time, use
once every 24 hours until directed to stop by your veterinarian.
Storage:
Store Silver Sulfadiazine in a tightly closed container,
out of reach of children and animals, and at a controlled room temperature
of between 59 and 86 degrees F. Store in a cool and dry, well-ventilated
area.
It is a violation of Federal
Law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling.
Silver Sulfadiazine has broad antimicrobial activity
and works against both Staph and E. coli. It is used primarily to prevent
infections in burns that have penetrated the skin, but it may be used
for a variety of other conditions.

Do not use or store in or near open flame or heat.
Silver Sulfadiazine is intended for use on cats,
dogs, and horses. Not for use on other animals.
CAUTION: Use with caution in animals
with a history of kidney disease, liver disease, or allergies to sulfa
drugs.

Keep out of eyes. If eye contact occurs, flush with
plenty of clean water and consult your veterinarian.
This medication may increase sun sensitivity.
Side effects include skin irritation, itching, and
burning at the affected site. If difficulty urinating, rash, unusual
bleeding, or increased inflammation develops, discontinue use and contact
your veterinarian.
Do not use this medication in animals with a known
allergy to it or to similar medications.
