Denosyl is intended for cats and dogs
only. Do not give to other animals. Not for humans.
Keep out of reach of children and pets.
Do not permit children to handle or administer Denosyl.
Review all manufacturer directions
and cautions. Talk to your veterinarian about how to use Denosyl in
your pet.
Your pet's need for Denosyl may change
over time. Your veterinarian may recalculate your pet's dosage or change
the usage from daily to a less frequent (every other day or every third
day) maintenance dosage.
Do not crush or break Denosyl tablets.
Do not allow your pet to chew the tablet. All dosing is calculated in
whole tablets; do not divide tablets. For proper absorption, Denosyl
tablets should be swallowed whole.
Directions:
- Give your pet Denosyl on
an empty stomach, at least 1 hour prior to feeding, as the presence
of food in the stomach inhibits absorption.
- Remove only the current
dose from the blister pack and return the rest of the product to its
safe storage location.
- Administer one 90 mg tablet
to cats and dogs weighing 12 lbs. or less.
- Administer one 225 mg tablet
to dogs weighing between 13 and 34 lbs.
- Administer one 425 mg tablet
to dogs weighing between 36 and 65 lbs.
- Administer two 425 mg tablets
to dogs weighing between 66 and 120 lbs. Give one tablet in the morning
and one in the evening.
- Administer three 425 mg
tablets to dogs weighing 121 lbs. or more. Give two tablets in
the morning and one in the evening.
- Place the tablet at the
back of your pet's throat for whole swallowing.
- Use a syringe to give your
pet 3-6 cc water to encourage the tablet to move into the stomach.
Frequency of Use:
If your pet's dose of Denosyl is one
tablet, the supplement is given once daily. If your pet's dose is more
than one tablet, divide the total dosage between the morning and evening.
Do not cut individual tablets in half; if your pet's dose is three tablets,
give two in the morning and one at night.
Your veterinarian may reduce usage
from daily to every other day or every third day after an initial usage
period.
Storage:
Store Denosyl out of reach of children
and pets.
Denosyl's active ingredient, S-Adenosylmethionine
(SAMe), supports healthy liver functions in cats and dogs. It raises
levels of the antioxidant glutathione in the liver. Glutathione is important
for keeping the body clear of toxins. This product helps prevent liver
cell death, repair damaged liver cells, and protect liver cells. Denosyl
is used in cases of impaired liver functions regardless of the cause.
Denosyl is available over the counter.
